Bangkok's 28th International Festival of Dance & Music 2026
2026-09-05 – 2026-10-17
Bangkok's long-running international performing-arts season brings 12 productions from nine countries to the Thailand Cultural Centre across six weeks — opera, classical and contemporary ballet, and large-scale contemporary dance, including New York City Opera, the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, Helikon Opera's La Traviata and Sadeck Berrabah's Murmuration.
Should you go?
This is the one season each year when full international opera and ballet companies tour to Bangkok, and the MRT stops practically at the venue door — but every production plays only a night or two, so it rewards booking ahead.
Good for: A planned-ahead formal night out — international opera and ballet productions that otherwise rarely reach Bangkok, with an easy MRT connection
Think twice if: You are deciding on the day or keeping costs down — individual shows sell per date and tickets start around 2,000 THB
Planning note: The season runs 5 September to 17 October but each production plays only one or two nights
Before you go: Each production runs one to two nights only; pick a show and book its specific date rather than planning around the six-week window
Decision note: Treat it as 12 separate one-or-two-night shows, not one festival — pick the production you want first, then book that specific date.
